| Why are globes tilted ? | Many globes are made to tilt at an angle of 23 degrees to match the actual tilt of the Earth. Incidentally, it is this tilting of the Earth, relative to the sun as it orbits around it, that causes the seasons to change and give us more daylight hours at certain times of the year. |
| How can I do if the name or the boundaries of countries would change after I bought the globe? | There is a special service called "Refresh Program (charged)" in regard to the globes of Replogle Globes Japan. Check use guide inside the globe's package about details. |
| Can you wrap the globe as a gift ? | We wrap the globe with ribbon and wrapping paper for nothing. Whole wrapping with the long ribbon(charged), greeting card(free) are also available. Click here for sample. You can choose them in the order sheet. |
| Is it possible to put the memorial plate on the base ? | We make metallic plate with the character carved on it. This service is charged. Click here for sample. It needs 7 to 10 days to make it. Please ask us when you order for details. |
| I'm worried about gap of the map of hand-crafted or press-crafted globes... | The globes except for those illuminated have a map printed on the paper and in the processes it's changed to a spherical shape. Next, the raised and indented relief is done. However, the height of the mountains or the depth of the sea differs in each point, so the degree of the paper pulled also differs in each part. Today's technology can not completely solve this problem. In manufacturing section, they are trying to reduce this gap. Of course in the inspection the one with flagrant gap is removed, but actually it's impossible to make the one with no gap. Sorry but understand it please. ※The illuminated globes are made of plastic(not sticked on) and there is no gap. If you would mind the gap, we recommend you to buy the illuminated globe. |
| What is the difference between the political map globes and physical map globes ? |
political map is a map with contrasting and colorful boundaries. physical map is a map with true-to-life color, as the ocean in blue, forest in green, and desert or ice in its natural color. National boundaries are shown in red lines. |
| How up-to-date is the globe ? | Most globes are made within a year. You could use the globe without anxiety. |
| How many countries are on the globe ? | They are indicated based on the table of the country of the world published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. Check official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan to see details. |
| There are some globes in which border is not printed between Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Why is it? | In this area, the border is not determined. Some globes indicate temporary border. |
| I found some flaws like cuts on the surface of my globe. Is it defect ? | The globes except for those illuminated have a map printed on the paper and in the processes it's changed to a spherical shape. Next, the raised and indented relief is done. Sometimes the marks like cuts would be left on the surface. This is inevitable because of the way of making. | Where in the illuminated globe can I find the lamp ? | The lamp is inside the globe ball. It corresponds to the domestic outlet. The lamp is available at electrical stores. You can turn the light on and off with a switch. The degree of brightness is about from 5 watt to 30 watt, so it doesn't have a lighting effect but does make the interior smarter. Moreover, you can see the writings on the globe better than usual with its brightness. |
